Recently, Teng had the opportunity to attend Noir, a Melbourne Design Week collaboration with Perfume Playground. Through this workshop, Teng gained invaluable knowledge and insights, honing her skills as a perfumer. With her creativity and dedication, Teng aims to enchant and captivate others through the aromatic symphonies she carefully composes.
What is something you’re really passionate about or deeply care about?
I’m super passionate about creating unique and captivating fragrances and really love to discover new fragrances.
You recently attended our NOIR-themed workshop in celebration of the Melbourne Design Week, what can you say about the theme of the workshop?
It was a really exciting theme for me, we were able to delve into the allure of mystery, intrigue, and the enigmatic aspects of design.
Did you enjoy the Freya Executive chef pairings?
Totally! There was a fascinating combination of culinary delights and sensory exploration. Pairing scents with food is an innovative approach that adds an extra dimension to the dining experience, enhancing flavors and creating a multisensory sensation.
Did you have any prior knowledge or experience with perfumes before attending the workshop?
Yes I did and it was about 1 year ago and I had a great experience with other participants.
What specific perfumery techniques or skills did you learn during the workshop, if any?
I’ve learned about the art of blending fragrance notes to create well-balanced compositions.
Overall, what were the highlights of the workshop for you?
Perfumery is a complex and nuanced art form, and mastering these skills often requires years of training, practice, and experience.
