Meet Shelley Sun, an adventurous, social butterfly and Perfume Playground Club Member who hosted a fragrant celebration for her girlfriends in the name of freedom.
Shelley, tell us a little about yourself?
I’m 31, Asian, raised in New Zealand and spent my teenage years in Melbourne. I’m currently working as an Operations Coordinator and studying a Grad Cert in Analytics. A huge people person, love going out, scuba diving, skiing, karaoke, a big foodie and a huge perfume lover!
What was your lockdown experience like?
I’m usually someone who goes out all the time, so lockdown has been really difficult for me. I’ve tried having zoom catch-ups, but nothing really compares to seeing each other face to face.
We were thrilled to host your fabulous event recently. Can you tell our audience about the day you planned and what it symbolised to you?
We were in lockdown for a very long time here in Melbourne, and because of this, we were unable to see each other for a long time. So I decided to organise a mini girls day out, something we all love doing and is exciting and fun to do. It was a celebration of our lives going back to normal.
What scent ingredients did your fragrance contain and why?
The ingredients were Phenylethyl, Bergamot, Patchouli. Honestly, the reason I picked them was purely because they smelt nice separately, and actually, they worked perfectly together!
Did your friends all make perfumes that spoke to their personalities? Any surprises?
I have to be honest, some of us loved the smell of our perfumes, and some didn’t, but overall, everyone loved the experience regardless of whether they liked what they’ve made!
What would we find you doing on a day off? Any passions or hobbies you can share with us?
If it was summer – you would find me out in the ocean doing some scuba diving, and if it was winter – you would find me up in the mountains skiing.
What’s a quote you would like to remember as we move in 2022?
Live a life full of humility, gratitude, intellectual curiosity, and never stop learning.
How would you describe your natural fragrance experience with Perfume Playground?
I am super happy that I made the booking and decided to ask my friends to join me. It is probably the best way and the most interesting thing we’ve done in 2021! The instructors were friendly and professional. The location and setting of the class was amazing.
